The drive takes about 1h30 on the highway. The full tour lasts 8 to 10 hours.
No, the climb is entirely optional. If you'd rather not climb, you can stay at the base enjoying the view, having a refreshing drink, or browsing nearby craft shops.
Pickup usually starts early in the morning (around 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.) and we'll be back in Medellín between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., depending on traffic.
We recommend very comfortable clothing, sneakers (especially if you plan to climb the rock), sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a light jacket, as the weather can change in the afternoon.
It's 740 steps with rest spots along the way. Most people in decent physical shape complete it in 20–30 minutes. It's not suitable for people with severe mobility limitations.
